I believe Dale Hill had something to do with my daughter's disappearance. I would like to hear from anyone who knows him or use to know him, and why you don't have anything to do with him anymore. There has to be some people from Nevada that look at this site and have met him or work with him. Or some old friends or family members. no one seems to want to defend him so there must be a reason. If you want to contact me in private use my e-mail.

Hi Chris, I am so sorry it has took me so long to get back to you, im having a little trouble getting all of the info from the girl. She is a friend of Martins so she is very worried about how he will take it. so here is what i have.....As we all know Dale Hill and Rodney Sterkel did have something to do with her disapearance. Now the cab driver said that there was a girl named Nicole at the house that night. Stephanie was taken and somewhere along the lines put in a burn barrel and then buried above Powers. Now I don't know who the cab driver is but i know he drives here in Douglas County. I am soo sorry again to tell you this. there is a little more information but i know it would rip my heart out off my chest to hear it if happened to my babies. I would love to help in any way possible.

I just noticed the story on KATU's site and followed the lead to here.

If you suspect someone to the point that you would name them, I would suggest that you try to locate him and then have a bit of a media flash such as with KATU in Nevada, have your local law enforcement contact Nevada law enforcement or locate associates thru MySpace, Google etc. and communicate directly with them until you get an answer that you feel with include or exclude your person of interest.

Becareful that you do not cross the line for slander or liable, although getting him into civil court might help, look what it did in the OJ case.

Someone will see it and someone will respond, the key is to keep the public informed, after all I saw the story and responded.

Best of luck, I am sure it gets depressing to carry the torch all the time, in the end you will find the answer good or bad

A message for stephs mom. Heres a question for you , If I offered you 1 million dollars would you be willing to go to jail for life?
Your reward posted on signs will not do any good. Instead if your really willing to do this enough make a deal with Dale let him stay free from jail for what he did and in return he will reveal the 10 year old missing body. I say all this because no money will ever get him to confess but freedom will. It reminds me of the saw series you can't always get the best of both worlds. One section in saw the killer puts him in a trap his life is in hands and he says put your arms in this contraption which will slice your hand off but you will be free or do nothing and in 1 minute your life will be taken away. Sometimes theres only one way for a true closure. Plus the police may be able to go after him for something different and put him away.

The Condons said...

I can not offer dale hill anything if he will not talk to me. that is one reason I set up this website, so he could give me the info anonymously. apparently he has no feelings or remorse for what he did. Surely a person who has no feelings for his victim is not going to care about the family. and to anonymous@katu I know exactly where he is and i have not been able to exclude him in 10 years. as I said he refuses to talk to me or cooperate with law inforcement. there is only one reason he would not talk to me and that is because he, one has some guilt, and two, he hasn't can't come up with plausable answers to my questions. So if he doesn't want to face this head on I guess I will have to blindside him with the facts.

What do you know about this Nicole girl do you know who she is why was she there at the house. Why does she not know anything or does she?

anyone decided to search the area?

I am so sorry that 10 years have passed and you still don't know where your beautiful Stephanie is. I don't know why she has touched me so much, but I think of her often. Maybe it's because my daughter also has an October 8 birthday. God bless you, and I pray that you get the information that will lead to her very soon. My prayers go out to you.

Anonymous said...

I posted here previously on 29Oct08at 0958 Hrs. after seeing the story on KATU and after reading the later postings I gather that someone has told you that your daughter can be located in the area of Powers. Perhaps if you could get a more detailed possible location you could contact your local sheriffs office and ask them to provide you with the name of someone with a cadaver dog that would be willing to go to the area for a walk around to see if a scent can be picked up. If you know someone with the 304th out of the Portland air base and could get them to fly the area with a heat seeker they can from the air detect ground that has been disturbed or if a body is buried in an area. Flir Systems out of Beaverton makes the equipment used.

Just thoughts, but you can keep the pressure on by making public appeals to the media, State Police and anyone else that will listen to you. There are many individuals that are located only because a family member keeps pushing, the public has a short memory and public officials will take the path of least resistance.

I do not know how Dale Hill lives with himself daily. Law enforcement should talk to his parents about what they know about. Some information will come out.

dales parents wont talk to the police. they don't believe he had anything to do with it and if they did they will protect him to the end

I can't believe that there are no clues and no leads after all this time.
As a mother myself, I can't begin to imagine the horror of having a child vanish.
I hope that you and your family are blessed with answers soon. 10 years is way too long and someone, somewhere has to know what happened.

Anonymous said...

This Dale Hill sounds like he should be persued by the F.B.I. missing childrens division. Have they sat him down yet? He was at the house very late that night from what I understand. Have they gave him a lie detector test? This would clear Dale Hill in the case of 14 years old Stephanie Condon if he can pass lie dectector test. If he fails the lie detector test, the F.B.I. would have to lead this case if he has moved out of Oregon. Has he ever been listed as a Sex Offender? I understand that he broke into houses to steal womens underwear. This Dale Hill sounds like a very sick person people may not want to live around. Well I'll check back to see if the F.B.I. gets this guy. As a Veteran I think our country deserves protection for our children. God Bless America's Children!!!!!

I know that Dale Hill use to have a myspace cause one day I was thinking about Stephanie and just did a search on him and he had one at the time. I am gonna go search his name again and see if he has one.

I found Dale Hill's myspace page but its private. I searched Winston Oregon and came up with his and says he lives in Nevada.

Got deep into online searches on Stephanie tonight after reading about the remains found out in Glide and I came across this - not sure why I haven't found it before but it's quite a load of crap and I found it upsetting.

Anonymous said...

I saw an interview on the Medford news tonight with the man who found the skeletal remains on little river road. He lives 2 minutes away from Dave and Darlene Hill, Dale Hill's parents. Those kids grew up in that area and know those hills well. I feel in my heart that this is the closure that you have been looking for. My thoughts are with you. God Bless!

Anonymous said...

i am the person who found the remains up little river.i don't know who they are ,but i hope that my finding will give some family closure.

Anonymous said...

I read that article someone posted earlier. How can people get away with reporting things like that that are not true? I agree, its very upsetting to see that. I pray they find all these missing people some day and whoever is responsible is brought to justice!

Anonymous said...

As soon as I heard about the remains, I looked at my husband and we both said "do you think it's Stephanie?" I don't know you or your family, but as a long time resident of this county, your daughter feels like one of our own. I live near Glide and often thought Hill would have brought her this direction. I hope this finally brings closure. I hope you and the rest of the county can begin to heal. Prayers are with you.

Anonymous said...

It sounds like you have a break in the case. I grew up with your daughters picture on the side of my parent's van. I saw her face every time I entered the Melrose store......I truly hope you get closure, although this will never heal your wounds. I truly hope that Hill gets what he deserves! As if anything could reach that level.

Anonymous said...

Wow! They found the remains literally right behind Dales mom house! I wish someone would of searched that area better and sooner. I also think that Joseph should receive the reward for finding her! I'm happy you will have this closer and that Dale will get punished for this.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of sweet Stephanie. Should the recent findings in Glide be Stephanie, may you find some sort of comfort in now knowing where she is and may you all begin the healing process. Please always know, our county and you 100%.

May you find some peace and comfort in this most difficult time. If there is to be a public memorial, please, someone, post that information here?

My heart goes out to you, and that may not mean much from a stranger, but I feel so connected to your daughter.

I have no information, and nothing other to give than my sincere words and good, positive vibes that I am sending to you. I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope they find the monster that did this to her.

I just have to say.... I understand parents have to protect and stand up for there kids (no matter what age)to a certain point but MAYBE now HIS (DALE HILL'S) parents will actually believe that its possible that he had something to do with this horrible murder of a child. If they don't they are just as guilty and WRONG as him and anyone else that knew where her body was and what happened to that precious child. NOW is the time for his parents to GET REAL and do what they can to solve this case. If Dale's parents are reading this blog I just want to say to them... Please do the right thing and help solve this case. Sometimes our kids aren't perfect but even when they make mistakes, they HAVE to take credit for there acions. He needs to DO HIS TIME for the horrible thing that he has done, even if it was a mistake and he didn't mean to kill her. He still HAS to be held accountible for his actions!! Please do the right thing!!!!

Sorry for the long post - but here is an update on Dale Wayne Hill.

Douglas County will be sure to give you a warm welcome home Mr. Hill. JUSTICE FOR STEPHANIE!

BREAKING NEWS: Dayton arrest connected to 1998 Oregon girl's disappearance
F.T. Norton

March 25, 2009

The arrest this morning of a Dayton man is connected to the 1998 disappearance of a 14-year-old girl whose remains have been positively identified as those found two weeks ago by a hiker in Glide, Ore.

Lyon County officers, accompanied by members of the Douglas County Oregon Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police and FBI, arrested Dale Wayne Hill, 39, a convicted burglar, just before 10 a.m. on suspicion of failing to register as an felon.

Hill is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Stephanie Condon, 14, who went missing the night of Oct. 30, 1998, while she was babysitting.

Hill had once dated Condon's aunt and told authorities he stopped by the house where Condon was babysitting, but that he had nothing to do with her disappearance, according to published reports.

He was convicted of an unrelated series of burglaries shortly after her disappearance and served about six years in prison before being released in 2004. Hill was never charged in Condon's disappearance.

Her whereabouts were unknown until March 13, when a man was walking his dog remote forest road in Glide, Ore. found a human skull, according to the Douglas County Oregon Sheriff's Office.

During a press conference in Roseburg, Ore., this morning, Douglas County Oregon Sheriff John Hanlin confirmed that the remains were those of Condon.

Lyon County Sheriff's Capt. Rob Hall said Lyon County was alerted to Hill's presence in the community by Oregon authorities. A check of his status revealed he had failed to register as a felon, said Hall.

Officers contacted Hill at his apartment in the 300 block of Dayton Valley Road just before 10 a.m. and took him into custody without incident.

He had been living in Carson City on Corbett Street, but had recently moved to Lyon County, said Carson Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A cadre of Oregon officers that were at the Lyon County Sheriff's substation in Dayton this morning declined to comment on Hills arrest, but one of the men confirmed they were members of the Douglas County Oregon Sheriff's Office, FBI and Oregon State Police.

Hill is being held on $1,132 bail. It's not clear if he will be charged with the disappearance and suspected murder of Condon.

So sorry for the loss of your Angel....Now she is found and I hope this brings some peace.
I live in Madras, Oregon, and I remember when she went missing. I have thought of her many many times since then.
I sincerely hope her killer is going to suffer in the worst way possible....

I can't imagine my baby girl being taken from me like yours was. I'm glad you finally have her back and I hope the death penalty is legal in your state. That guy deserves it.

First of all I want to tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. My name is Marshall and I am a political science major from Georgia.

As a political science major, I constantly find myself searching through FBI files, unsolved cases, and missing persons reports. I would say that I came across Stephanie's case roughly a year ago and I always kept it in the back of my mind because of the nature of it.

I was reading a report today of where Dale Hill was arrested for suspicion to register in Nevada as a felon. It also stated that he had previously been arrested on a string of burglaries/robberies.

Have you guys checked to see if he was on a high the night Stephanie went missing?

Also, I find it very plausible that since he seemed desperate for money, he may have taken her for ransom, then realized what he had done and knowing he would go back to jail, decided to kill her?

These are very real possibilities and I hope that whoever did it is brought to justice soon.

If I can be of any service to your family please let me know.

May God Bless your family. Thank God they have finally found her, and now she can rest in peace. I hope that they give that man death because he deserves nothing less. Even death seems to easy for his punnishment. We will keep you all in our prayers as we have for the last 10 years.

I am so sorry for your loss but am hopeful this provides some closure for your family. I am confident Hill will finally be brought to justice, it's only a shame he hasn't been paying for his crime this whole time she's been missing.
God rest her soul and bless your family!

Dear Family,
I sat down to breakfast and News at Noon. I heard your daughter's name and that remains were found. I just started to cry. I do not know your family but have lived with the loss of Stephanie as a Douglas County resident and mom since she went missing. Just this weekend I drove by a billboard. I wanted to share in your grief today and can't imagine the upheaveal that your family is experiencing. I am sending love in this note. Just a small expression.

I hope this can bring some healing to your hearts to know your beautiful daughter can be home now... God Bless you and your family!

I have followed this story since it first came out. It hit sort of close to home to me because I had two younger sisters living in myrtle creek and around Stephanie's age when she disappeared.

When they found the remains so close to my home (I live like three houses from the Hills), I kept praying that they were those of Stephanie, not that I wished her harm, I just kept thinking about you and your family, the not knowing must've been horrible. It's scary to think how many times I've been hiking up there myself and the thought that I was living merely houses away from a murderer, it discusts me that any son of a gun (censored) would hurt such a precious child, I hope they catch the bugger and throw away the key and/or fry his rear. It's heartbreaking knowing that he took such a special soul. I am so, so very sorry for your loss, I shall continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you, your family, and Stephanie. Take Care.

How bittersweet...I'm glad that your family can now have peace in knowing here whereabouts, but grieve right along with you at the horrendous crime that was committed 10 years ago. I am saddened that there are such sick people in this world. May you rest her in peace and have comfort in having at least partial closure.

Dear Condon Family:

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I saw the news about your Dear Stephanie in 1998 and I've never forgotten her disappearance or forgotten the picture of her beautiful face.

I've seen the billboard and also
felt saddened and full of grief
for your family.

I have felt such outrage over the reality of missing people, esp. dear children.

I can't imagine how unbearable
it has been for your family for
so many years.

When I heard the news today about
human remains being found and identified I just had a feeling that they would be those of Stephanie.

I pray for your family to have
continue strength as Stephanie is
laid to rest.

I hope that justice will be served
and that this Dale Hill is given the death penalty.

I can't imagine the pain your will live with during the trial process.

Please take comfort in knowing that
others care and that God's arms
will hold you all gently as you

A Mom from the PNW.

I wanted to say i am SO glad For stephanie and her family...Of course Sad becasue we never want a child to be found that way. But we do need it to prosecute. And now we have that. When the remains were found my husband & I were talking and hoping it would be for the purpose of closure and JUSTICE FOR STEPHANIE. I am a resident of Douglas County for 32 years. Both Oregon girls, missing for years.

Stephanie Condon, found very near person of interest parents home.
Kaelin Glazier, found on the property of the person of interest.

Both girls remains found by accident.

And although police were very active in each girl case, it does make make you wish police had searched more extensively closer to home, doesn't it?

I am a firm believer of what goes around comes around. Unfortunately it often takes time. It sounds like this Dale Hill is a worthless piece of trash. I fail to understand why people who do such senseless acts to children but unfortunately there are those kinds of people in the world. At least Stephanie has been found and she can be brought home to be properly buried. Not what any parent/family would want but it gives at least some form of closure. I pray that the person responsible for this heinous crime gets caught...

My deepest condolence to you. My heart breaks with the news. I hope who ever is arrested for her murder is put in the general population at the Douglas County Jail. Dear Condon Family,

I do not personally know you but feel as though I do. I have followed this case through out its history and I still remember the day when it was reported in the news that Stephanie was missing. I felt so sad for you then and even more so now. I am glad that you have your daughters remains now. In someway it has to make you feel closer to her. In what ever way you are able to find peace and comfort I wish that for you. I look forward to a better time in the world when the Bible promises that the wicked will be torn away from the earth and righteous will have an abundance of peace. I hope to that you have faith in the resurrection and that you gain solace in knowing that you have the opportunity to see Stephanie again.

Condon family - what can we do to help ease your suffering?

Is a memorial being planned? Is there a fund to help with costs?

I can imagine you simply need your space and time to grieve. But know that this county considers you family. In a way, Stephanie was our daughter too.

Whatever you need, whenever it may be, say the word. This county (and I'm pretty darned sure most of this COUNTRY) stands behind you.

As someone else posted, don't let the evil that did this take anything more from you.

Stand strong. Know that we're all with you. And if you need to fall, we'll catch you.

Justice for Stephanie.

To The Condon's Family and Friends:

I offer my heartfelt sadness today with the discovery of your and our loss. Who knows what Stephanie might have grown to become but for sure you and her friends gave her a great start and for those who knew her, they are forever blessed. While Stephanie is not in our world, I believe she is about our world to wake us up and remind us about security, safety and the appearance that safety currently holds in this world for women, and children. Her death should not be the reasons we seek to keep others safe, her life was enough for us to do right.

I am even more sadly devastated at the reasons Hill was able to be out and about. I do advocacy work for abuse, rape and murder. I have found that individuals like Hill, Richard Allen Davis, killer of Polly Klaas was stolen from her house (Davis and other child killers were former military.) This type of break in and child stealing is becoming very common. I would ask, if you are curious if you can you find out if Hill has any past US military connection. Was he in the military or was his parent,(Ted Bundy's Army step father beat him as a boy) or uncle former military.

With the average of 4 children per day per state disappearing in this country 70,000 children are far to many to not raise the national eyebrow. Yet, voices are not loud enough as police insist too many children are run a ways, but little is done to rescue children abused in the home. Childhood and this nation should be the safest place to live in the world due to our national security and police. But, it is not, more women, men, and children are abducted, abused and killed in this nation then any other. And we have the least prosecution and conviction rate of these crimes. No child; kid or adult should ever have to suffer this fate.

If you can email me back at I would appreciate it. I have found disturbing laws that prevent former military predators from being held accountable for sexual abuses while in the military and they simply release them onto the streets of America.

I am truly sad for your loss, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I was just a young women, a few years older then Stephanie, when I first heard about her disappearance. This struck a deep chord with me, because, like Stephanie, I also spent a lot of my time babysitting for friends and family (one of whom also lived on the outskirts of Myrtle Creek at the time).

In the decade that has passed, I have thought about Stephanie every time I drive down to the Roseburg/Myrtle Creek area. I have had my life to live these past years, and always wondered what Stephanie might be doing or have done.

I've since become a mother to two wonderful sons, and now find myself feeling the loss of Stephanie in a whole new way.

While my heart aches to know that she is dead, I am also grateful for closure this provides. I pray that whoever did this harm to Stephanie is brought to justice, and that this can finally be put in the past.

Stephanie will forever live on in my thoughts and prayers.

I have just received the news of Stephanie's remains. Communities through out Oregon should be demanding Justice. Suspect Dale Wayne Hill lived near the site of Stephanie's remains. His answer to what he did that night of Stephanie's disappearance. "I drank until I past out like I always do." Did Dale Hill say he sleep-ed in his truck that night? Did he get issued for drinking and driving? I understand he visited Stephanie baby sitting knowing she was their alone with the babies. Who in the hell would do such a thing. Did he broke into houses and steal women's underwear? If this is true should he have had to registered as a sex offender? Law Enforcement should seek justice in this case no matter what the expense. Communities will be safer getting person / persons responsible for this crime. Questions regarding who knew of any knowledge covering up information that would have assisted leads should be looked into. I heard Dale Wayne Hill was arrested today in Nevada for not registering as a felon. Will he be able to walk away on a small bail? Communities should ask for the F.B.I. to sit Mr. Hill done for some questioning since he has left the state. America's children need to feel safe. Protecting them is only humanitarian. God Bless America's Children!!!!!

When God calls little children
to dwell with him above,
We mortals sometime question
the wisdom of his love
For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world,
seem wonderful and mild
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to his fold,
So He picks a rosebud,
before he can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so he takes but a few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult still
somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.

There is so much evil in the world today and the loss of innocence and life of a child is the worst, I pray that your family finds some closure in your relentless search for your child. Stephanie would be proud of how hard you fought to find her and bring her home. Don't let the evil in the world take away whats left of the life God has given you, fight through it, fight for Stephanie, you'll see her again some day. You have your personal Angel waiting for you. God bless your family and bring you peace.

I am sickened, enraged and in shock. Why has Dale Hill been let free all this time? I have always wondered when they would find her. He should not have bail set. Why on earth do they even give him a bail ? It is not fair that we should have to hide our children when monsters like him are free to roam. I was suprised that she was found like this. I wish they would deliver him into the hands that actually serve justice. We'd tear him to shreds. Also... I find it quite shocking that the area she was found in was never searched.. or was it? only 2 miles away ! I find that rather ridiculous. It angers me, I feel much more could have been done in her case. Sincerely E.W

It's a sad world when people are snatching our children and murdering them. Stephanie is such a beautiful girl - I look at her pictures and cry so hard. Why? That seems to be the question. Why do people harm our children?

From the entire family of Leah Freeman, best wishes to you in your fight for justice now. And may God watch over you all. Take care and never give up. Justice must be gotten for Stephanie.

As a mother of four children and pregnant with our fifth I feel deep sympathy for your family. As I watched the news last night and thought of how I might feel if one of my children was taken from me the way Stephanie was taken from all of you, it saddens me to know that the person who took your child is out there and has had freedom for the last ten years that she has been missing. My family and I feel sorrow yet some kind of joy for all of you as well. Sorrow because no parent should have to lose their child in the manner that you lost yours. Joy because now maybe you and your family can have some peace knowing where Stephanie has been for the last ten years and that she can now be properly laid to rest. May you and your family find the peace that you have been searching for over the last ten years. Angels will continue to watch over you and your family as someone is brought to justice for this crime.

I read of the discovery of your daughter's remains and just wanted to say how sorry I am and that I am praying for your comfort as well as for justice to be served. I am from a tiny town in Tennessee. I had never heard of your daughter's case, but like so many around the country, I was touched by your situation. My prayers are with your entire family along with the sincere hope that her killer will be brought to justice. I know that there are thousands praying for that same thing. God be with you in your grief....Cindy

I have been following this case for about a year. I visited the seen of Stephanie's disappearance and have followed trails of Mr. Dale Wayne Hill ever since. Many easier locations for Stephanie's remains could have been used for the person / persons responsible. Yet her remains where found where Dale Wayne Hill had lived before and after Stephanie's disappearance. Authorities should be sitting people close to Dale Wayne Hill down for testimonies of knowledge of what they know of where Dale was that night. Has the F.B.I. investigated Dale Hill since he left the state of Oregon. They have abilities to access information that could help bring justice to this case. The area Stephanie was found was not a likely place someone of no knowledge would have even driven into. The access to very steep terrain was next to where Dale HIll lived. It would not have been clear to someone of no knowledge of this road where it even went to. It was steep enough in areas where a four wheel drive may have been necessary. There are lots of dead ends to go into and not know exactly how to even get out, especially at dark. I noticed lots of steep road sides in this area. I came across an individual logging areas around this the B.L.M. land. I explained that I was looking for Stephanie's remains. Why this area is ironic is the proximity to Dale Hill knowledge of the area. And if evidence was found in this area, Dale Hill would be aware since he lived next to it and could hike back there with no one to know. Well now we all know. Now its time to bring Stephanie to her home raised soil and bring "justice for all" responsible. God Bless America's Children!!!!!

To Mr. Condon,
I found out last night about your dauduter To Mr. Condon,
I live in Dayton Nevada
I found out last night about your daughter. I am sorry.
Angie and I met Dale last year. We did not know anything about him or about you or Stephanie.
We met him at a bar while he was singing a Karaoke song.
He sat with us, he joked with us, and he laughed with us.
He told us he was from Oregon and came to Nevada for work. He couldn’t get any work doing dry walling. He said he work as a machinist in Mound House Nevada (couple of miles in-between Carson City and Dayton. AGAIN we didn’t know anything about you or Stephanie.
He convinced/conned us that he was a nice guy, safe, and loved to sing. He said he was in the Navy at one point. We invited him to our house on numerous occasions for barbeques, Christmas, the Super Bowl, etc. he came each time except for Christmas , he said he and his brother were fighting (his brother lived with him while living in Carson City) and went back to Roseburg Or. And he wanted to patch things up with him. He mentioned how he played the Wii station at Christmas and had fun with his family.
But there was one time (the last time) he came to our house, he asked if he could make a movie with us. We said no, and how weird that was. That was the last time we saw him. (Approximately 2 weeks ago) .
Last night while watching TV. That’s when we couldn’t believer our eyes and ears, and what a big fat liar he turned out to be.. Now we are scared. Angie is so afraid and angry. We are not sure what to do.

There is a special place in heaven for your wonderful little girl and I believe she is so grateful for the love and passion you have shown in your search for her. If only all children could know their parents love them as much as you have shown your love for her. This would be a better world.
Stephanie has touched lives all over this country. The monster that did this to her cant take her memory or the love that we all feel for your family. God bless you all and may you find some comfort knowing she will live on in our hearts forever.

Remembrance is a golden chain
Death tries to break, but all in vain.
To have, to love, and then to part
Is the greatest sorrow of one's heart.
The years may wipe out many things
But some they wipe out never.
Like memories of those happy times
When we were all together

I cried the day I heard that Stephanie was missing along with the rest of her friends and family. She was such a sweet beautiful girl and she didn't deserve the hand life dealt her. I hoped and prayed every night that she would be found safe and sound and brought home back to her friends and family where she belonged. I cried again when I heard they found her remains. This time the tears were both happy and sad. I'm sad because she should be here with us not gone. It just doesn't seem fair or right. I'm happy because at least her remains were found and she can be brought back and laid to rest peacefully and we can all try to find closure. To the Condons,I know words can't help with the pain and hurt but I really do hope you can find peace now. And I hope justice gets served soon it has been far too long. Stephanie you are loved and missed, rest in peace.

I remember speaking with The Condon's years ago while I was searching for Derrick Engebretson, who is still missing. They are the best people you could imagine. As I watched the KGW report I found myself sitting at the computer crying. My prayers go out to Stephnie, her family and friends. I can only hope after all these years the persons responsible will finally be brought to justice.

Condon Family:
I remember when Stephanie disappeared like it was yesterday. I was 20 years old and working in the mall in Roseburg and someone brought in a missing persons flyer. I read it and got chills. In that instant Stephanie found a place in my heart. She was such a beautiful young woman and I remember hoping against all odds that Stephanie would be found unharmed. As days turned to months, months to years, I never forgot Stephanie. Having family in the Douglas County law enforcement, Stephanie's case was always kept in the forefront in my life. Every time I drive down Garden Valley and see her face, I always thought about her. Upon hearing the news that is was Stephanie found in Glide, my heart sank. While I knew this was the most likely outcome, I just felt so incredibly sad for your family. Watching Mr. Condon at the press conference absolutely broke my heart. There aren't words that can express how sorry I am that this was the outcome. Stephanie always has been watching over your family and giving you the strength to go on every day. Now we all get to pay our respects and find solace in the fact she will have a proper burial. God bless your family.

what hard evidence has been found that proves without a doubt that Dale did it. is there any? i havent heard about it. its terrible what happened to stephanie and i am so sorry for the family. but how can anyone crucify someone for something that hasnt yet been proved by hard evidence?

Tears roll down my eyes as I write this blog to you and your family as I feel your pain. My brother was kidnapped over 20 years ago and we have searched for him and done everything in our power to find answers. We too feel we know who took him, but the person has never been arrested and we continue our endeavors to acquire evidence and hope justice will prevail one day. You have closure now, but I know it isn't the answer you had hoped for. Stephanie is very lucky to have had a loving family like yours. Please, let me know if there is anything I can do for your family.

PLEASE!!!!! call the Douglas County, Oregon Sheriff's Office at 541-440-4458 or 541-957-4752

Thank you and God Bless

I would like a call from the person who has been following this case for a year and was in the area of Dale Hill's parent's house.

Your vehicle has been mentioned and I would like to clear this up. It sounds like you were only in the area searching for evidence.

I would appreciate a call at 541-957-4752.

Dear Anonymous who asked about hard evidence against Dale Hill. It is obvious that you are one of his family members. I too am a family member of Stephanies. Let's chat a bit since you obviously have no information pertinent to this case except an extreme bias (and blindness) towards what your relative is cabable of. What makes you think there is no evidence. What makes you think that there is none? Obviously there is, or he would not be a suspect. If he's so innocent, then why wont he stand up in public and say so. He has not defended himself to anyone except his family, and that's because he needs you to belive him.He has not issued any comments, wont cooperate with the police, hides in Nevada without telling the police there that he is a felon. Thats because he did not want anyone to know where he was. Besides the bundle of hard evidence, there is the fact that her body was found right behind his mothers house (gee, thats an indicator dont ya' think?). He plays the helpless, victim of persecution very very well. I know because I have talked with him. That aside, I also blame you and his mother for never letting him take the consequences of his actions and may have lead him down the slippery slope of a cold blooded killer that he's become. Take that to bed every night. This is Stephanie's website, please do not use it as a pulpit to argue his innocence, especially at this time.

Stephanie and I were very close friends... There is not a day that has went by that I have not thought about her and your family. It sickens me to the core to think about what happened to her. The innocence of her friends, family and people that knew her were robbed that day! To me there is no punishment harsh enough to pay for what he has done... He took a shining light from this world and replaced it with darkness, hatred, fear, and sadness... Everything in my life has been tainted. On my wedding day I cried wishing that Stephanie was there to share my day with me... The day my children were born I cried, even though i wanted to to name my daughter after Stephanie I couldn't bring myself to do it, I still held on to hope... Now that she has been found I hope that all of the evidence that is needed was found to bing Stephanie and her Family justice. It is my hope that in this sadness closure can be found so that healing can begin. Know that as always my prayers, tears, and Love are with your family. When the arrangements are made I pray that I am invited to say goodbye.

Condon family,
I just recently lost my father-in-law and a cousin. I searched for poems to express my feelings and found this one. It helped me somewhat and I hope it helps you....

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not're coming here to me.

Condon Family ~

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I live in Roseburg and have followed her case throughout the years. I am a Mom with a 23 year old daughter and my heart aches and breaks for you. I can't even imagine the pain and heartache you experience. You have done an excellent job keeping her name out there and people always aware of what is happening in the search and finally finding of her.
I pray you feel God wrapping His loving arms around you just now. My prayers are and will continue to be with you and your family. May you find rest and peace and may the person who did this be brought to justice. Know that many are praying for you and your family.
Very Sincerely,

For those who wish to leave flowers, balloons, cards, etc., in Stephanie's memory, there is now a temporary memorial set up in front of the DC Library in Roseburg. This is located at the corner of Diamond Lake Blvd. and Jackson Street. All of Douglas County and beyond, are encouraged to stop by this memorial and reflect upon the memory of Douglas County's very special Angel~
Stephanie Elizabeth Condon. All items will eventually be collected and delivered to The Condon family. A tentative public memorial is being planned for April 18th~let's all show up on this special day, to celebrate the beautiful life of this precious, beautiful young lady. Dear Condon family,
My husband and I are both from Douglas county and were just teenagers ourselves when Stephanie went missing. We have prayed for your family many times on our drive to Roseburg from Portland where we now live as we saw the billboard off the I5. We were so relieved this week to hear that her body has been found. We have been praying for your family and hope that finding her will help bring peace and closure in your hearts. We also pray that the person who did this will be convicted soon for what he did and that justice will be served. May God be with you in this difficult time. Love, The Williams Family
